Product Description The stunning third and final novel in Stieg Larsson's internationally best-selling trilogy...
Lisbeth Salander--the heart of Larsson's two previous novels--lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She’s fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she’ll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of her friend, journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority who have allowed the vulnerable, like herself, to suffer abuse and violence. And, on her own, she will plot revenge--against the man who tried to kill her, and the corrupt government institutions that very nearly destroyed her life.
Once upon a time, she was a victim. Now Salander is fighting back.
Amazon.com Review Amazon Best Books of the Month, May 2010 As the finale to Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest is not content to merely match the adrenaline-charged pace that made international bestsellers out of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played with Fire. Instead, it roars with an explosive storyline that blows the doors off the series and announces that the very best has been saved for last. A familiar evil lies in wait for Lisbeth Salander, but this time, she must do more than confront the miscreants of her past; she must destroy them. Much to her chagrin, survival requires her to place a great deal of faith in journalist Mikael Blomkvist and trust his judgment when the stakes are highest. To reveal more of the plot would be criminal, as Larsson's mastery of the unexpected is why millions have fallen hard for his work. But rest assured that the odds are again stacked, the challenges personal, and the action fraught with neck-snapping revelations in this snarling conclusion to a thrilling triad. This closing chapter to The Girl's pursuit of justice is guaranteed to leave readers both satisfied and saddened once the final page has been turned. --Dave Callanan

If you liked the first two... youll love getting some final answers! The third book in the series is just as enjoyable as the first two and the reader finally gets answers that connect all the dots in the lives of Mikael and Lizbeth. Its a fascinating look into a modern-day Sweden. My only question is... do Swedes really drink that much coffee? :2010-09-18 10:00:34
Salander = salacious I tore through all three books back to back and even though the story line in confusing at times and the pace can be slow I cant help but feel empathy for Liz and her upbringing.
This is not a book for young people as the issues and sexual abuse are probably beyond understanding (hopefully). This was a great series for a summer read but I am disappointed that Stieg was not able to finish the other 7 in the series. :2010-09-17 09:13:24
Great reading!! After a recommendation to read "Dragon Tattoo" I couldnt wait to read the next two and promptly purchased them from Amazon.... I was not disappointed.... just heartbroken that we can only have these three books from this wonderful author. It was raw exciting interesting and made me want more. Thank you Mr. Larsson :2010-09-17 09:13:24
Simply the best I may not be the most well read person in town but the Salander trilogy is the best series Ive ever read. It beats my two favorite authors over the bast 20 years Tom Clancy and Vince Flynn. Great characters great story and great wrap up in the last part of the Hornets Nest.
Read these three books in sequence. Youll not be disappointed. :2010-09-16 05:10:03
Best one yet! Well I just finished "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest" and I believe Steig Larsson saved the best for last. This book has it all a great plot excellent characters and so much suspense that you just cant put it down until it is done. I cant believe the trilogy is over and there will be no more "Girl" books. Good bye and thanks Lisbeth. :2010-09-16 05:10:03
Not as good as the previous two If you have read the first two books of the millenium trilogy then you HAVE to read this book. The ending is what makes it worth while but the rest of the book DRAAAAGS. I wont say I was disappointed because I truly love Stieg Larsons work but there were many times that I had to force myself to pick up the book. When I finished The Girl Who Played with Fire I instantly ran out to buy The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest because I couldn;t live a second without reading more about what happened to Salander. It took me almost 200 pages to get into the story and there were so many characters involved that the book became confusing and boring at points. There were parts where I had to force myself to keep reading but there were also scenes that were gripping. One thing that amazes me is Stieg Larsons ability to make characters come to life. Im so bummed the trilogy is over because Im going to miss Salander Berger and Mikael. Overall I recommend the book but I dont think it was as goo :2010-09-16 05:10:03
